NVELOPE NH3

Horizontally running rail system for face-fastened vertical panels

Engineered for speed, strength, and flexibility, the NVELOPE NH3 is a premium-level sub frame system optimized for face-fastened vertical panel rainscreen cladding. Supporting both vertical and horizontal applications, the NH3 requires 80% fewer fasteners than its predecessor.

Premium materials pair with sophisticated engineering for uncompromising results.

Versatile compatibility: NH3 uses horizontally running L or T-rails with adjustable brackets, adapting to many vertical rainscreen panels, including fiber cement, HPL, ACM, metal and others.

Engineered strength: Unique brackets and rail connections provide secure, efficient fixed and sliding fastening points to distribute loads and accommodate thermal movement.

High-performance materials: Made entirely from extruded aluminum alloy 6005A‑T6, the system offers exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and longevity.

Sustainable construction: Crafted from low-carbon, largely recycled aluminum, NH3 promotes both durability and lower embodied carbon for façades.

Thermal and structural flexibility: Each NH3 bracket includes a pre-installed hard PVC isolator to reduce thermal bridging and support energy-efficient designs.

NH3 delivers faster, easier installation through fewer parts and smarter design.

The NH3 system streamlines installation by using just three fasteners per bracket—80% fewer than its predecessor, the NH2—speeding up the process and reducing labor costs. High load capacity means fewer brackets are needed per square foot, saving even more time and materials.

Key advantages:

  • 80% fewer fasteners: Just three fasteners per bracket make installation quicker and easier.
  • High load capacity: Fewer brackets per square foot reduce installation time and material costs.
  • One-piece bracket with pre-installed isolator: No need for adapters or separate isolator assembly.
  • Only four install components: Simplifies installation and site inventory.
  • Ten bracket lengths cover all needs: A compact selection accommodates cavity depths from 2.0” to 13.47” minimizing complexity.

Every aspect of NH3 is engineered to minimize steps and maximize productivity, ensuring faster project completion and lasting performance.

Features

  • The NH3 system allows horizontal L or T-rail profiles to be directly inserted into the brackets.
  • The bracket is secured to the substrate; either steel frame, concrete, CMU, or timber. The horizontal slot of the bracket is then ready to receive the horizontal rail.
  • The L and lipped L rail can be adjusted for line and level and secured using fixed and sliding positions to allow for expansion and contraction.
  • This system is suitable for face-fastened panel applications.

NVELOPE NH3 is the system used to support vertical elements, allowing for varied façade design options. The system has a number of advantages over the NH2 system, making it faster and easier to install.

6005A‑T6 extruded aluminum alloy for structural strength and sustainability

All NVELOPE systems are manufactured using extruded aluminum alloy 6005A-T6, a premium grade distinguished by its outstanding strength, high corrosion resistance, and durability even in demanding environments.

SFS selected 6005A-T6 for the NH3 due to its superior mechanical properties that greatly outperform standard aluminum alloys. This material choice enhances both engineering reliability and thermal performance, supporting safer, longer-lasting, and more energy-efficient rainscreen facades.

Approval

  • British Board of Agreement
  • Meets the compliance requirements of ASHRAE 90.1 and NFPA 285

Options

  • NVELOPE brackets: allows adjustment between the face of the primary support to outer face of vertical profile
  • Thermal isolators: hard PVC isolator assembled as standard (located between the NVELOPE bracket and the primary structural support system).
